Fact!
I’m trying to find a cleanly styled helmet that also has Snell or ECE rating so that I can wear it for AutoX (and potentially if I buy a motorcycle) and doesn’t cost all my dollars. The image above is a quick shop of the livery I intend to run.
The Mondrian collection of Yves Saint Laurent (1965)
Mondrian all the things.

ehhhh. you might want to double check on the bike/car thing.
IIRC, the ratings are two different things. however, snell helmets for bikes are pretty cheap.

What?

Definitely a cool livery!
Like Peter mentioned, you may want to double check the rules on using a helmet for dual purposes. Back in the late 80s/early 90s we all ran open face MC helmets in our cars (mainly drag racing) but I believe the rules have changed since.

Mondrian helmet is best helmet. I dig it.

SNELL for bikes and SNELL for cars are two different things I THINK (i remember hearing from someone that car helmet shave to take 2 impacts, bikes only 1)
I’m not entirly sure, so please double check that

From the SCCA site:
“A Snell approved helmet (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010,M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98)“

As I just replied to Peter, from the SCCA site:
“A Snell approved helmet (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010,M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98)“

Right on!
This is happy news. I have a spare helmet I was going to toss on CL this weekend.

Yeah, my biggest issue is that a lot of the helmets I like are only DOT rated which isn’t (a). legal to run in AutoX or (b). all that safe on a bike either. I like style, but I like helmets that actually protect my head more.

no retro cafe racer wanna be for you! lol

It was either this or a Calder livery, but a Mondrian Composition livery will be much easier to actually paint myself.
The Calder CSL Art Car is still my favorite thing ever... of all time.

Bell Bullitts are ECE rated, but expensive as hell.
So pretty though.

they are.
my Kaos lids were all ECE rated, and full carbon. last one I picked up was only 180$.
dont think ud like it though.

The base Bell Qualifier (which I like) is only DOT certified, which kinda sucks.
I don’t mind a slightly more modern helmet, I just don’t want or need elaborate aero/styling. Less is more.

Point further proven :)

Love it. The problem is that if you crash, it’ll turn into a Kandinsky painting lol
